My third or fourth time to this bar in the past couple of years. I am not from here, but it's close to the hotel I stay at whenever I come here. The bar has a decent selection of local and nearby breweries. I was very surprised by the Three Floyds brews - the Gumdrop (?) was amazing. American wheat ale with some sweetness, without the density of Blue Moon. The mozzarella sticks were the best I've ever had. They were huge rectangular blocks of fried cheese, crisped to perfection. So good! Also had boneless buffalo wings (nothing special but not bad). Atmosphere was more mature, but then again I am in my mid 30s so I wasn't wanting to be around a bunch of 21 year olds either. Service was good. And even chatted with some regulars, which is a decent sign. I would definitely come back! Oh, and I did ride the horse out front for a photo opp :-D

The first night I was in town visiting, my two friends brought me here. We shared a few pitchers of Wells beer ($6 a pitcher on a Sunday night, not too shabby). The bartender was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We ended up moving outside on the patio after a table left because it was such a beautiful night out. After the second pitcher of beer, we decided to order some appetizers to share. We placed an order for the Buffalo wings (traditional) and mozzarella sticks. The wings were delicious and the mozzarella sticks to die for, seriously. It was the perfect balance for a quick bite to eat before the night ahead of us. I liked the set up outside for gorgeous nights like we experienced, as well as the spacious inside. This was an awesome choice for my first bar experience in Terre Haute.

Was visiting t.h. for my adult sons birthday..took a small group to eat at the copper bar...i used my debit card to pay the check of 154.38..i now find out a week later from my bank this establishment ran my card again the following day for an additional 102.00. I called the copper bar and was promised the manager would return my call...24 hours later no retirn call...of course i am disputing the charge through my bank...i thought it was an honest mistake until no one bothered to call me...in addition my burger was over cooked and dry.. waffle fries were thin and cold..service was slow...but i added the 20percent just the same as i do anywhere..only to find someone ran my card again....big thumbs down..bad experience.wont return.....

The Copper Bar takes me back at least *ahem* years to when I was a young girl of 21, and why shouldn't it? It's a virtual clone of the bars that I frequented in my undergrad days at Purdue - which happened to be *ahem* years ago. My cousins treated me to a beer plus some here - telling me that it was the most "chic" bar in all of Terre Haute - and the only one that my snooty Chicago city girl ass would dare step foot in. I tried explaining to them that I frequent dive bars in the big city more often than not. Which they didn't get. And they certainly didn't get the city hipster vogue to drink cheap working man's beers such as Old Style and PBR. But they did enjoy me ripping on the typical dress of the patrons (dated at least 5 years if not more in terms of rhinestone jerseys and short skirts and cleavage). But I excused that - they are college students afterall. Fashion sensibility tends to arrive after the college years. Bar was crowded on a Saturday night. Cigarette machine?! Haven't seen one of those in years - especially with my current residence of Chicago and now the state of Illinois being smoke free. As well as being old school in style of the bar and patrons, its also old school in prices as well. A round of beers for my cousins and me were just a mere 10 bucks.

I had fun, I mean anytime I just sit at the bar and drink for free is an ok time with me.. it was a bar that most reminded me of bars back home.. which was interesting considering where it was .. hahaha.. the people were chill and the copper bar lead to me having an amazing time my last night in Indiana.. I'll def go back next time I decide to visit terre haute

We stumbled into this place as we were driving around town looking to try some new places out and we were pleasantly surprised at what a fun place it was! The food is excellent, the drinks are great, staff is super friendly and it's just really a fun place! The only bad thing is all the smoke. That's the only thing preventing us from going there often. Its a very small place, so the smoke really gets to you after a few minutes.

The Copper Bar is a great place to go for food, drinks, and fun. The food is great, they have an ample selection or alcohols and beers, and the atmosphere is fantastic. We love going there for lunch and chilling on the patio and going back at night to party.

Kinda boring here. Not a fun place to drink. If you want to sit and talk with drinks it's cool. It's a ok place to pre-game but other then that it's a snooze fest. The bartenders were rude and acted like I put them out to make a drink for me. For the first time I did not tip the bartender. It's there job to make me whatever drink I ask for not roll your eyes and snort your nose at my request. I usually tip a great bartender 3 a drink ok bartenders 1 per drink but this one was just rude. Don't wanna work don't have a job.

IF YOU'VE GOT CLASS, MONEY... THIS IS PROBABLY YOUR DT PLACE Copper Bar is an good place if you're in or near downtown Terre Haute. The prices are reasonable. The place is well kept. The service depends on the bartender. Copper Bar offers some outdoor seating and relatively clean, maintained restrooms. If you've got some class and some money, this is probably your downtown watering hole. You might also like 7th and Elm... and the Verve on some nights.

Great owner, friendly crowd. Walked over to watch the conclusion of a Big Ten game following an ISU basketball game. A friendly stranger helped wave down a bartender and introduced me to the owner who had a ton of stories about ISU basketball legends. Everyone seemed very familiar with each other but also welcoming to an out of towner like myself. Also ordered some chicken tenders to go for the ride back to Indianapolis that were large and delicious. Highly recommend.

The evening barkeeps all have the attitude that to bring you a drink is taking up their time texting on their phones. The day time gal is great. The floor runners don't know squat. They are on their first job. Like the place and great sports tv.

Slooooow service - I waited a good 10 minutes at the bar for the bartender to return from wherever she was in the back. Had I not seen some friends there, I would have left for something better. Later during my stay, another guy came in and waited at the bar for 10 minutes before leaving due to no service. Perhaps the two other waitresses standing around could wash some glasses or tend bar while the bartender is in the back? The first time I visited, they charged me an additional $3.00 for ice in my bourbon. This is not Indianapolis or Chicago, it's TERRE HAUTE! You already charged me $5 for $1 worth of liquor! The second time I went in (thinking I'd give them another shot), I figured I'd be smarter and order it neat. What do they do this time? Charge me an extra $1 for neat! Too much nickel and dime shenanigans. I guess this place wants to serve only beer and shots to the locals and gouge anyone who is not from the area. Taking the average experience of the two visits, it makes me not want to return. Average bar food, nothing particularly notable. The atmosphere is typical small town bar - lots of TV's.
